The calabash is traditionally used in South America for the preparation and tasting of mate. It is a natural squash that is dried, hollowed out, then passed over a flame, which gives it its brown color. This calabash is therefore not tinted!

This mate gourd is handcrafted in Argentina, which explains why the shape and color may differ from one gourd to another.

The calabash is sold alone. Match your calabash with a bombilla, a straw fitted with a filter, to consume your mate according to the rules of the art.
