Oh là là... for so long we've been asked for this blend! Star chefs, amateur cooks, grocers - everyone seems to be looking for Satay! And at Shira, we don't like to do things by halves. Each version we tested was a new disappointment - until one day - the right recipe was born at the Épices Shira workshops.

Tangy, thanks to the lemongrass and galangal; spicy (but not too much), thanks to the chili, ginger and 2 peppers; sweet, thanks to the presence of whole sugar and cardamom. The whole team found it wonderful... so we're sharing it with you!

To make this blend, all the spices were ground together to harmonize the aromas.

Do you know satay?

Satay (or saté), is above all the name of a Javanese dish, invented in the 19th century. It is a street food dish (street food) par excellence - meat skewers served in a rich, spicy peanut-based sauce.

This easy-to-eat and easy-to-carry dish then spread first to Indonesia and then throughout Southeast Asia. Today, it is eaten in Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and elsewhere.

Any ideas for using the satay mix?

The organic Satay spice mix is ​​primarily used to prepare... satay sauce! Mixed with peanut butter, coconut milk, soy sauce and a little lemon juice, you can then use it to accompany your chicken, seafood, vegetable or tofu skewers.
