Imperial Matcha

Imperial matcha is a green tea from Japan, invigorating, round and mellow, which develops beautiful vegetal notes, enhanced by a powerful umami flavor.

It is made with the utmost care, using tencha leaves: three weeks before harvest, the tea plants are deprived of most of the light so that their leaves develop unparalleled flavors. These tencha leaves are then delicately ground as finely as flour.

This is a tea that isn't brewed, but rather whisked into water. This allows the tea leaves to be absorbed directly, which explains the rich flavor of Imperial matcha, as well as its numerous health benefits. It's a true superfood with many virtues. Rich in caffeine, which provides energy, and theanine, which promotes relaxation and concentration, a bowl of matcha is said to contain up to three times more catechins than any other green tea (a molecule with powerful antioxidant properties).
