This Japanese green tea is a very good introduction to the diversity of Sencha, the most consumed tea family in Japan.

Steamed then folded into needles, these teas have vegetal and marine notes.

Sencha Ariake is the most accessible Sencha. It is produced in Shizuoka province.

Both sweet and very present in the mouth, it is ideal in the morning or early afternoon. It’s also a tea rich in antioxidants!

Tasting notes

Liqueur
Color: beautiful green.
Texture in the mouth: soft and velvety.
Flavors: slight acidity.
Aromas: iodized attack, marine (raw fish and seaweed) and vegetal (cooked vegetable at the start then a note of cut grass in the background).

Preparation suggestion
To taste: 2 minutes in water at 75°C.

Prepare this iced tea:
Take 20 g of tea leaves per liter of water at room temperature, let it steep for 30 minutes, remove the leaves and place in a cool place.

Tea and food pairing
Sencha Ariake goes perfectly with prepared grilled fish such as red mullet, sea bream, sea bass or salmon, and goes ideally with crustaceans and shellfish such as shrimp, scallops or clams. For dessert lovers, Sencha Ariake is ideally combined with red fruits in mousse or sorbet.
